This component can intercepts solid contaminants such as metal shavings, welding slag, and dust within the refrigerant.

It also adsorbs residual moisture in the system, preventing moisture from reacting with the refrigerant to form corrosive acids. This protects sensitive components such as the expansion valve, evaporator, and compressor from wear or blockage.
